Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm pretty tough on new people. There's usually a lot I have to say. If there isn't a whole lot I can say, get a different beta reader because if don't say a lot, it means you've either surpassed my own talent or I don't know how to explain your situation in great enough depth. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar/spelling/punctuation, characterization, pacing, and I can give good suggestions to improve style if you are lacking. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I work with new people so often I forget what it's like to critique those who are really, really good. I can sometimes find something they need to improve on, but it takes a long time for me to really see it. So like I said, if you've been in this business for a while, don't come to me unless you want to challenge my beta-reading/writing skills, which would actually be quite nice if you did. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Aside from the 3 specific categories I selected, I can also do Yu-Gi-Oh and Twilight, but keep in mind that I'm not done with either of those series yet. I'm only two thirds into Twilight and have only seen the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh (I'm finishing as soon as I can, I promise).
I can also do a number of other shows, such as Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, Monk, Psych, The Office, That 70's Show, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Scrubs, but I don't know if people actually write fanfiction for those fandoms. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No lemons, please. I know a bad one when I see one, but bad ones make me have nightmares. |
