When I beta-read, I try not to interfere too much with storyline. I will make exceptions if the characters are OOC or if original characters appear to be Mary Sues. I expect anyone I beta for to be willing to work with me to make their story the best it can be. If the author becomes defensive or appears to be ignoring the very foundations of characterization and canon in their story's universe, I will drop that author. I expect my authors to be canon whenever possible, although I will make exceptions for authors who wish to use fanon devices such as shared Head Boy/Head Girls' dorms if I believe they are strong enough to make the story work.

I am extremely skilled with spelling and grammar and I am a fairly decent Brit-picker. I am extremely well versed in Harry Potter, Warriors, Castle, The Closer, X-Files, and Tortall canon.

I will admit to having little patience with writers who annoy me. I am also somewhat sketchy on some of the finer points of canon when it comes to CSI stories, as I only began following that show in season eight. I therefore also am not quite sure on what is and is not OOC for certain CSI characters, especially Vartann, Brass, and Ecklie. I am a decent writer at best, not great, and I cannot write much more than vignettes.

I mainly prefer romance or friendship stories, and for my preferred crime shows, I adore casefiles. I can and will cheerfully beta yuri and het smut.

I will not beta Super!Harry, Dark!Harry, Dark!Hermione, etc... basically, if they're not dark in canon, I won't beta a story where they're dark. I won't beta most slash (check with me), not because I object to it but because I don't know how. I won't beta mPreg. In the NCIS fandom, I absolutely will not tolerate stories that bash Jenny Shepard or Hollis Mann.
