Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm willing to beta stories but don't have a ton of time to do it. I can read for grammar, sentence structure, truth to cannon or AU. I love writing but don't have the time to do the research I need for my stories at the moment, so I'd love to do some beta work to stay in the game. I'd like to take on one or two writers for starters and see how it goes. I work mostly in TV but have seen tons of movies and read lots of books, too. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm able to give direction in writing style, spelling and grammar. Additionally, I have degrees in biochemistry, French and am completing my third year of medical school at this time. Stories that are medically or scientifically themed are my forte. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am not an experienced editor and fear that I won't have time to take on more than one or two writers at this time. I've not really done this before, so I don't know if I'm any good at it or not, but I'm pretty well versed in most subjects on a research level. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Scientific, medical, historical, TV fandoms that follow said characteristics plus Joan of Arcadia, Blind Justice, One Tree Hill, Numb3rs, other movie and book fandoms, too, just ask. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I don't know anything about anime, games, or comics and would prefer no incest or slash. |
