Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader

I'm really open to reading any ship/fandom unless it's one that I don't know enough about to give helpful information on. Fiction based on books really are my bread & butter. I LOVE them! I'm also big into TV Show fandoms and those are easy to read up on to get some good details if I haven't seen to much of it before.br /

I prefer to do all my proofing through Microsoft Word documents so I can use the Comment Tracking application. Obviously that means we'll have to communicate via e-mail; if that doesn't work for you we'll do our best to work something out. And if your computer does not have Microsoft Word that's completely alright, we can always work something out!br /

Also, I always ask the writers I'm proofing for; do you want strictly grammar/spelling/flow or are you interested in creative content help as well? I ask this because some writers want the content to be all their own with no creative help whatsoever from others and that's great, but if you want creative help LET ME KNOW! I want to help make your story the best it can be and I'm willing to help in any way necessary. Of course, I'll be completely honest if I don't know enough about the genre to help creatively, but if I can help & you want it - I'd love to!br /

Oh & always remember; what I suggest is just that - a suggestion - you don't have to use every piece of advice I give you. In fact, there have been many cases where the writer didn't use my advice and I'm not at all offended by that. |

Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I love to help develop plot. PLOTS make the world go 'round. I like suspense, I like drama, I like humor, I like angst, I like romance, etc. I like it all! I like chapter-fics, but I really enjoy one-shots as well. A good one-shot can speak volumes just like an excellent chapter-fic can. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I am not a slash writer and therefore I doubt I'd be of any help developing a believable story involving it. I am an M writer, beta & reader, but I prefer my M to have a bit of taste and I'm not interested in straight dirty-talking porn writing. Fun sexual fics are great, but can maintain their taste level. If you're looking for someone to beta a straight pornographic fic please look elsewhere. |
