Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've always been a grammar freak, even though I'm not fantastic with it, along with a spelling person, which is probably one of the reasons why I've never used a beta for any of my stories. Currently, I'm willing to do pretty much anything, from proofing to being willing to reading a story and letting you know what needs more detail and such. I'll do pretty much anything at this point. I am currently a English writing major, and therefore have experience working on proofing other people's work. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Spelling, proofing chapters in general, and being able to describe something in detail and express emotions through words. I always try to keep an open mind and not be judgmental about any of the subject matter, nor am I afraid of speaking my mind, and letting someone know when something sounds wrong or appears to clash with what else is going on in the story. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Although I specialize in writing in college, grammar is not something I have ever excelled in, and still struggle with to this day. Which is why I keep a grammar manual that I was required to use for one of my writing courses. Sometimes my life takes over writing or editing something, since neither is my job, and I have a life outside of this, so occasionally I will forget what I am supposed to do and when it is due, but I do keep a detailed schedule about when I need to have things done and turned in by, and have gotten good at following it. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I am willing to proof anything. I like to keep an open mind and be able to read anything and everything that's out there. I would appreciate if it was readable though, although I do not mind a mass amount of spelling errors. |

Personally, just because of time constraints, I don't want to try to proof a completed story unless you give me a good amount of time to do it (if it has 20+ chapters in other word, please give me about a few days per chapter, and I'll submit them back to you as I finish them). |
