Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a college student, so I'm afraid I'm not very prompt. I am very grammatically accurate, and when I make suggestions, it's usually for the sake of clarity or simple grammar, spelling and punctuation. I try not to inject my style onto that of the author, as I know how annoying that can be.
I prefer to communicate via email, with ".doc" attachments that allow me to highlight corrections and suggestions. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar, punctuation, continuity, and clarity are my life-blood. For fandoms that I'm familiar with, I'm pretty good at keeping the characters...well..."In Character." |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I might step on your toes a little bit in regards to style and voice, but I'll always defer to the author. It's your story, and I won't pretend to know where you're going with it and why you choose to portray it in any way. Sometimes my corrections and suggestions can be a little vague. Please don't hesitate to ask me to clarify a problem. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I love good action/adventure stories, maybe a good romance (if it has some good supporting plot), and suspense. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not a huge fan of slashfic, and I would rather not betaread them if the slash is the main focus. If it's a subplot romance, I could probably deal. |
