Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm just starting out as a beta, really, so I think my style would be to read the actual story and suggest what needs tweaking, what should stay, what should be cut out and put into another chapter...I expect anyone who wishes me to beta-read for them to be patient, be tolerant, and to know that if i say something hurtful (which I almost never do), I want you to understand that I would never, ever want to drive writers away. I don't believe in flaming, but constructive criticism is a-okay! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can read fast, understand a decent amount of words and plot points, and give constructive criticism that is as painless as I can possibly make it. I do write decently and know the difference between the well-constructed, the needing improvment, and the atrocious. |

If there's only one tiny mistake in a word (spelling), i probably will not catch it. I'm also a rookie, so I don't really know the correct way to beta read (do you just criticize and let them fix it, or fix it yourself? O.o;; ). You're basically taking a big risk by choosing me, but I will gladly do my best for everyone! |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Fluffy shonen ai from KH, PKMN (but only AshxGary), Naruto, OHSHC, and Loveless is a first pic. Second, light shojo ai is also accepted from any of the series i mention in my FF.Net profile. Crack pairings that arent TOO crack-tastic are good. Any genre is fine, any rating is fine. Het is fine, too, and Canon is alright. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
A specific fandom request: Pokemon - If you don't pair Ash with Gary (or if you really wanna tick me off and put Misty in there with Ashy), i am sorry, but I would not be able to sit through the story. Hardcore lemons (aka pr0n to the extreme), or anything really sexually graphic is a no-no. I've only read one lemon before (a taseful one, at that!), so I can't handle too much. I will also not get involved with Harry Potter fics if they aren't the main pairings; you HP shippers are almost as scary as the Pokeshippers. |
