Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I enjoy reading people's stories, and I enjoy nitpicking stuff. I try to make my criticism be like, helpful, you know, constructive? I love reading, and I love writing, and I love make words flow. I'll do my best to look over your story and make it sound great. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm a grammar NAZI. I'm HUGE on spelling things correctly, even if it comes to using dictionary.com. Quotation marks are like, my favorite, and I ALWAYS make sure character names are spelled correctly. (That's one thing that really bugs me - if you're that into your fandom that you'll write fanfiction, please know how to spell character names.) |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I skim a lot. Love books, and skim over long passages a lot. I have to go back and reread a lot before I realize that I skipped something. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'd like to do things I'm familiar with, obviously. I'm up for almost any pairing, slash or not, canon of fanon, whatever. Harry Potter and Twilight would be my strongest areas, since I know those characters best, but there are other fandoms like A Great and Terrible Beauty, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Jane Austen that I wouldn't have a problem with. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
There are specific pairings of the Harry Potter and Twilight fandoms that I'd rather not do. I refuse to go anywhere NEAR the character "Renesmee" in any Twilight fic, as I want her dead. Otherwise, I'm pretty open. Slash is not a problem. Weird pairings aren't an issue. I'd rather not have any incest or twincest, tough, as I believe most people can generally agree that that crosses some lines. |
