Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hey, the name's Rye. I've been writing intensely for seven years now and I have been betareading for at least four of those years. I really enjoy it and I'd be happy to help you out with your story! I have plenty of experience and good references. In 9th grade, I was assistant editor for the school newspaper. In 11th grade, I was the offical prereader/editor of English essays for my class, teacher approved.
As with everyone, I'm sure, I've got my own sort of style. Typically, my idea of betareading is fixing sentence structure, spelling errors, punctuation and grammar errors, capitalization, etc. Basically, I take the skeleton of your writing and make it sound... prettier. On special request, I will merely comment and point out errors for you to fix on your own.
I expect anyone who acquires my services to be patient with me. It may take me a day or two to correct your story, depending on my schedule. However, I assure you that the results will satisfy you. I certainly hope I can be of assistance to you! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My main strongpoint is definitely in improving sentence structure. Give me a simple story lacking description and style, I can turn it all around. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not the type to give brutal honesty. If you're looking for a hardcore, straight-forward, opinionated betareader, you're not talking to the right person. Also, because I take my time to doublecheck everything in an attempt to more or less perfect it, you're going to have to give me at least a day or two to correct everything. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I really don't have any major preferences. I just enjoy betareading in general, so I'd be happy to take on most anything. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Sorry, but I'm going to have to refuse betareading any mature content. If you insist, I may budge, but I'd really rather not. |
