Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a college senior at Brigham Young University. I've been a member of ff.net since 200o. That's 8 years I've been reading and writing here. Wow, I never realized it was that long. Anyway, I've published under a variety of nicknames and have published several stories that over time I've revised or deleted with newer and better stories. I'm an English Minor and History Major, so I'm very good at researching, editing and story flow. I just started plotting for my first original story. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I type 71 wpm according to several word tests. I'll be taking a creative writing class here at the university and I've been in two advanced research classes. I've written several 10 page research papers and I'm working on a 20 page one right now, my culminating work for school. I've taken a class on young adult books, so I'm also familiar with elements of a good ya work. I like to make suggestions because I'm very creative and I have a good eye for grammar and spelling. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I might not be as fully invested because its been a while since I've written anything here and I do have my own life outside ff.net. I mostly just read now. I do guarantee that if I make a commitment to you to proof your work, I will follow it through. I never make a promise I can't keep, so I'll be honest with you if I can't do it and I'll tell you why. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer to proofread for Harry Potter and Twilight in Books and Beyblade and Danny Phantom in TV Shows, which are familiar areas I've read or written from. I love the Tennis Shoes series, so I'll beta-read for that genre too, even though I know there are only 5 stories currently posted (hint, hint, lol) |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'll be brutally honest: I won't look at anything above a T rating. If you want to write filth, do it on someone elses terms. |
