Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
If I betaread your work I am mainly going to change the spelling and grammar, and if I think a certain part should be done differently then I may comment on it, but I am not someone that is going to edit your story to make the writing flow smoother (unless it is incorrect grammar). I feel that the actual writing of the story itself should be left to the author, the way they created it to be, not the betareader/editor.
I have betaed for numerous people before, such as:
RavenShadowsong (no longer active)
Pianoluv (don't speak to anymore, and she hasn't been all that active much lately either)
Snowballheat16 (a very long time ago, she most likely does not remember me, she is also not that active)
Saharas (More so I would give her ideas for her story than beta it)

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My best strength would have to be spelling, which includes knowing where to use homonyms (words that sound the same but mean different). I also know the differences between American, Australian, Canadian, and American (this includes words like airplane vs. aeroplane, dialogue vs. dialog and not just the simple ones like colour vs. color, or centre vs. center). |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My friends say that I critisize when I give feedback. I try to make it constructive critisism, but I guess to some people it doesn't appear that way. So, if you aren't very confident about your story, then try to find someone else. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Well, my preferences are the sections that I offered myself to read for, so this box is not really needed for me.
For Misc. sections:
Anime: Ghost Hound, Shigofumi, Spice and Wolf
Tv. Shows: Whistler
Books: Anything by Scott Westerfeld |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Lemons: No
Fluff: Yes, but only if I have beta-read for you before, read one of your stories, talked to you on a forum or if it is in a small section and you cannot find anyone else to read for you.
Religion: Unless religion is a main part of the section, then please no super religious fics.
OCs: Yes, but try to find someone else first.
Character bashing: No |
