Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'll admit it, I'm new to this whole beta thing. So bear with me while I learn. That doesn't mean you won't get quality work and a honest eye from me, as I enjoy working with others to hammer out plot issues and characterization flaws. I know that writing can be a challenge and respect that, and would like to extend my own knowledge to those who feel they need another's insight into their works.
What I currently want to read as far as games go:
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy IV, V (there are not many on the site for this one), VI, or VII
Suikoden I or IV (I don't see many of these which I why I want them)
Tales of Symphonia |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am good with plot and finding a direction to go in. I am also good at characterization and enjoy adding a voices to characters that fit them. In other words, I like being different and playing the "What if game" a lot of times. I think outside of the box and if you do too, we'll get along just fine. :) I'm good with description too and injecting feeling and life into a piece of prose. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm afraid I'm not the greatest at romance and stuff like that. Never was, but am working to improve it. Anything rated M for lemons, limes, and any other citrus fruits is not something I'm willing to touch. (Violence is okay, so long as it is needed for the plot). |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I like to laugh, plain and simple. A good comedy is something I would definitely enjoy reading and offering pointers on.
I also enjoy a good "What if story." Have something where a normally dead character survives? Send it my way. I like to see your theories in action.
I'll also handle a good tragedy or suspense. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No yaoi, hentei, etc...
No Original Character based stories please! (They get too confusing for me)
No sex scenes and stuff like that. I'm not into that kind of thing and advise you to find someone else for it.
And please, no parodies or poetry.
