As a beta-reader my main goal is to make the plot and characters of the story as believable and accurate as possible. I help authors steer clear of Mary-sues and cliches, unless of course that is what the writer is trying to accomplish. br /br /

Someone who asks for my help can expect to hear "Why?" quite a bit. I do this only to make sure the writer has his/hers ideas flushed out enough. I find this helps a lot when it comes to avoiding Mary-sues and stories that have a different effect on the reader than the author was going for.

As mentioned I am very good at helping authors flush out their ideas into full plots and characters. I am also quite good at correcting grammar errors.

I tend to overlook spelling errors, but I read and reread pieces multiple times in order to ensure that I have helped my authors to the best of my abilities.

I love to work on historical pieces because I have a very large historical background and have a very keen eye for detail and accuracy. Video games and comics are another strong suit of mine.

I prefer not to work on high fantasy pieces because I am not very familiar with the genre and I would not be good at helping the author in setting up characters or plots. br /br /

I also would prefer not to work on crossover pieces because I am generally not a fan of those kinds of works and wouldn't know how to help.
