Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta reader, I primarily like to read stories in fandoms that I am currently interested in. Check the list of my fandoms and favorite ships. http:/angelofsnow.livejournal.com/17381.html My Fandoms and Shipsbr /

I'm available to do all types of beta reading: A,B,C, or D. I always give constructive criticism. I never want to be hurtful but I will be honest on areas you need to work on.br /
br /
A level beta reading entails helping to shape story arcs and character dynamics. I only feel comfortable doing A level beta reading after I've worked with a particular author a few times.br /
br /
B level beta reading, helping to keep a story's pace and tone in sync.br /
br /
C level beta reading works on characterization and voice.br /
br /
D level beta reading primarily reads for grammar, spelling, and inconsistencies. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strength lies in helping characterization and voice in stories, C level beta reading. I really care about keeping characters believable in fanfiction, and true to their canon personality. I believe it turns the reader off when he or she can't picture the character he or she knows and loves in your story. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I struggle with story arc, pace, and tone myself in stories. Sometimes I want to reward the reader too much and pander to conventions of the romance genre. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I highly prefer romance or drama categories. That's where my strength lies. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not very good at humor. I'm not a big fan of crossover stories. |
