Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a writer and a reader. If I don't have my hands on the keyboard I have probably have my nose stuck in a book. I plan to major in English in College. I'm currently in Honors English and from what state tests have said. My English level is post High School.
My beta-reading style is very I guess what you call skimmed. I read the selection once quickly and then go over it slowly to look for errors. I can usually read the selection in about 20 minutes and then get back to you most likely the very same day. I am very honest about what I say. I will not sugar coat it. I do not like Flames nor do I Flame. That is mean! Honesty is better than Flaming! Trust me I've been the victim of Flames. Flames are just evil!

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I believe I excelt at writing summarys and I love helping people write summarys. I also believe that I am very good at writing introductory paragraphs. I also believe I am good at making stories flow. If you look at some of my works from the very beginning when I started back in 6th grade to now. I have found how to make stories flow. I hate choppy stories. Its like its goood...goood..goood and...wtf? I hate it when stories are suppose to be 1+1=2 and then its like wait! 1+1=> Fish. I will help you fix that if you have problems. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not perfect nor do I claim to be perfect. Some of my flaws as a beta-reader I guess are that I will probably miss some of the grammar errors. I use spellcheck as most people do. I will try my best to look for the spelling errors and grammar errors. I can't promise though. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I love all types of stories. From Romances to Slashes. I love stories that end in Happily Ever After but I also like Unhappily Ever After. I read everything from Lemons to Limes too. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I love slashes but please do not ask me to betaread a slash M/M with a sex scene in it. I'm all up for M/M but the whole sex thing. No way. Please dont ask. I will not make exceptions to this. I like action stories but would prefer not to read them but if you ask. Also if you ask me to beta read an action story. Dont have your story go like this. "There was a gun shooting and then they all died..." I will simply go W T to the F and not read it. |
