Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I correct your mistakes and try to make sure you don't make them again. While I will beta multi-chaptered stories, I prefer to work with one-shots. I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to betaing as of late. My expectations have risen a bit in the past few years, possibly stemming from my growing boredom toward most fanfiction.br /

If your fic is an absolute train wreck, I'll tell you, though admittedly in much nicer terms. If the situation becomes one where I'm putting more work into the fic than you are, I'll let you know that you have to find someone else.br /

I'm happy to help any way I can, but don't be surprised if you suddenly can't reach me for a few days at a time. However, I do tend to check my email on a daily basis when possible and am good about giving status updates! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I consider myself decent enough when it comes to keeping characters in-character. I've also got a knack for keeping a fic all in the same tone and following along the same theme, so I suppose you could say I'm proficient when it comes to handling narrative voices. I'm efficient enough to get the job done concerning grammar and spelling, and where my logic and memory fails, Google tends to prevail. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm pretty bad when it comes to the bigger picture and overall pace. I focus so much on the little details that sometimes I lose sight of the overarching point. There are also times when it's rather difficult to get a hold of me, especially since I'm juggling work, college, and a fiance that runs on 24/7 romantic attention. I might be somewhat lacking in the punctuality area. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'd really prefer to beta stories that hold my interest, particularly of pairings that I'm fond of. Romance is definitely something I adore; simple hack-and-slash action fics tend to bore me to tears. That does not, however, mean that I dislike all gen. I actually enjoy genfics that deal with psychological themes, character meetings, and basically anything that isn't a novelized version of the boss battle. |
