Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I haven't ever really beta-ed for anyone before, though I am quite strict in my expectations. People who have just begun writing, take time to seriously read through what you have written before coming to a beta for help. Betas do no provide miracles, and so I will not receive a story complete with poor grammar, and horrible spelling. Spell-check exists for a reason, and there are also dictionary sites to use as references. Laziness does not constitute a need for a beta.
I would prefer stories with some originality, and am open to most all dramas, animes, and movies, though I can't say I know all too many. Due to school, my schedule is somewhat iffy, and leaves much to desire, though if I state I will send you something by a certain time period, I will. Not much to declare here. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar and spelling are my best points, and some parts of originality. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Patience. I will not accept laziness on the part of the writer either - don't give me a story with a crap load of grammatical/punctuational/spelling mistakes. Understandable for the more complex sentence structures, but a person should know better than to leave out a period at the end of a sentence. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I have no special preferences. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not read yaoi, nor will I read yuri. I will read boy/boy love, and girl/girl love, as long as it does not escalate to the sexual stage. |
