Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Okay. I must confess, I really love editing things. I am an editing fiend. This is not a lie, as much as it might sound like one, because I will fine-tune the fizznog out of you fanfiction and I'll like every second of it. I'm pretty much an all-around editor; I can do grammar, characterization, plot suggestions, spelling, continuity, story flow, dialouge and anything else I may have missed naming.
I have no credentials. I like words. Pick me.
I am available year-round, though working and school might tie me up sometimes. I read fast, so it'll take me two or three days to do a full edit of something, depending on the length. I'd like to keep an open sort of communication with an author if I can snare one, so that way we can hash things out properly.
I have also read more books then is normal, so there's a pretty slim chance I haven't read your fandom. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am good at polishing up the style, making suggestion, and overall just fine-tuning the story. I also really love to help make stories better. I will totally nitpick. It will be awesome, believe me. I'm nice about it. No, really.
Like I said above, I'm good all-around, but if I am allowed to polish things up, I will run with it. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Occasionally, in the slightest of times, some people may misconstrue my well-intentioned, albeit blunt, advice, and become enraged. I am honest with my opinions. Also kind of a control freak. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
My love for reading things is pretty foolproof. I love the gays, though. The gays and the vampires. And explosions. If your fanfiction has all of these elements, you are my favorite forever.
But no, seriously, I am open to pretty much anything. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Stories with one-dimensional heroines. Give her a character, for chrissake. |
