Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
The thing is, with me you really have to expect me to be rather sarcastic and somewhat biting. If you get something wrong and you're possibly older than I am, I regret to say that I will probably be extremely rude and stuck-up.
If you want me to beta read, and English isn't your first language, I suggest you tell me that. That way I won't get mad at you, and probably even give more helpful hints than I would to any other person that simply makes stupid mistakes when their first language is English.
Yo hablo y leo Espanol tambien! Si se escriba o habla en Espanol, Yo se ayudate. Pero, mi grammatica para habla en Espanol no se bueno.
Also, my profile list me as only wanting to Beta in Spanish for some reason (dunno why, I selected English and Spanish as my languages). This is not true. I would -much- rather Beta in English, what since it's my native language and all.
I have an extensive knowledge of a few different genres, especially DC Comics. Final Fantasy VII (Seven) is another strong point for me, as is Kingdom Hearts, Trinity Blood, Naruto, Star Trek (Original) and Lord of the Rings.
If you have a Mary Sue character, or a Gary Stu character, I will not hesitate to tell you. |

I am particularly good at both grammar and vocabulary, and I can check for that. If you write in a same fandom as I do, and get a piece of canon wrong, I can fix it for you. |

I can't function very well after eight at night Pacific Standard Time, for some reason, so if you give me something right then and need it done RIGHT THEN, I seriously can't help you. I also take a while, as I need to go over things multiple times or else I'll leave mistakes unchecked. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I particularly like to beta family-oriented stories, stories with a lot of fluff, stuff like that. Mary Sues are fun to read as well, and I definitely won't turn you away just because you would write one. Any OC are fine, really. I'll litmus them for you too if you give me a character profile. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I refuse to read Yaoi. Sorry -but-. I get enough of that from Yaoi-crazed fangirls dressed as Axel and Roxas at conventions, thankyouverymuch.
I also really only read things for my own ship, and have a bit of a problem with stuff outside of it. The following are listed to see if you fall within a green area.
In the case of Avatar: The Last Airbender (The Legend of Aang for you British folks), I am a die-hard Zutard. I will not read anything arguing the point.
Final Fantasy VII? Yuffentine, Zerith, CloTi, CidShera and some OCs.
Any others are on my page, but these are the most pressing. |
