Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
My beta reading style... well, correct grammar is always nice. I have a background with correct grammar usage and correct verb tenses being used. If anyone would like me to beta for them, they have to be open for constructive criticism. Any criticism I may give will be completely truthful and actually have a point. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
As previously stated, I can pick up on correct grammar/verb tense uses quite well. Also, I have an extensive vocabulary so I can easily see if you are spelling something incorrectly or just using the wrong word. For example, I am well versed in the difference between effect and affect which I have found that most people can not say the same. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am not very good with helping with the progression of a plot. As a writer, I am horrible at catching typoes but when reading other people's works it is not a problem. If you are looking for someone to help you with writer's block, I am definitely not the choice for you. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to beta things that I've read, watched, etc. I love romance, so that will always amuse me. I am open to just about any genre though, I'm not too picky. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
A plot is always nice. If there is no plot, or a ridiculous plot don't bother. Also, if it is a romance, canon only please and only heterosexual relationships. I have nothing against people who are homosexual, I just cannot read or beta a story that has heterosexual characters pursuing homosexual activites. Staying in character is always nice, but if it is out of character it needs to be believable. Other than that, there isn't really anything I won't read. Oh, and by canon I mean a relationship that has been defined and can be supported with conclusive evidence, not just things like, "they're so cute together!" |
