Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello everyone, so this is my first time actually offering these services but I hope that this will turn out well!
((Expectations))
I'm not especially finicky when it comes to the standards that I have set for my clientele but that still means that I have some expectations. So here are my listed requirements:
- Must have a moderate command on spelling
- Must have proofread their work at least once
- Must be willing to make compromises
- Must be able to make suggested changes to their storyline, story presentation, etc.
- Must be somewhat agreeable
Yep, that's about it. If you can meet at least a few of those specified requirements then I'm your girl! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
- Good command of punctuation, spelling, & grammar
- Is proficient with believable characters
- Can convey emotions and messages in stories very well
- Is rather agreeable
- Proofreads and spell checks work constantly
- Has a keen eye |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
- Tends to make minor grammatical or spelling errors (NOTE: they're totally unintentional mistakes that can be easily corrected, however)
- Tends to get somewhat sidetracked (I do have a lot of schoolwork and homework to juggle along with this but I will try my absolute best to make sure that your work is thoroughly checked and corrected) |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I have a weak spot for: romance/action-adventure, alternate universe fics, very well-written and believable cross-over fan fiction but those are very hard to come by, and humor/romance. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I don't like canon pairings usually/ (i.e.: harry/ginny, hermione/ron, inuyasha/kagome, miroku/sango, cloud/aerith, cloud/tifa, etc.) so you'll rarely find me beta-reading these sorts of fics. There's something ultimately more forbidden and different about non-canon pairings. The rarity of these non-canon pairings just sucks me in and never lets me go-these are the fics that I'm drawn to the most. |
