Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have been writing on here since 2005 and creating stories in my head for as long as I can remember.br /

I am a fair beta reader. I will point out strengths and weaknesses in a story and help you develop a well written story. I am better with plot consistency and characterization than I am with perfect grammar, however I am good enough with grammar to fix most issues. I am willing to help anyone who is serious about what they are writing and who knows what they want from the stories they are writing. If you are writing a story but unsure of where it is going, no beta can really help you. I am honest but will never tell you that your ideas are terrible. I will however always ask if you know for certain where your story is going. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Characters are a strong suit of mine, figuring out who a person is and what drives them is something I love to do. I am also good at helping to smooth out rough patches of dialogue or text that aren't coming out quite right. General plot, even complex plots I am good with. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
As I mentioned, grammar is not always my strongest subject, so if that is your major issue I may not be the right person. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
If I've written about a topic I am willing to beta read for it. Dramas, romances, fantasy, and crime stories are what I have spent the most time writing so those are the stories that I would be best at beta-ing. I would like to beta poetry fiction as well. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I would not want to beta same-gender pairing stories or smut. I am sure there are authors out there who are far more qualified for those stories. I am also not a fan of most cross-overs; that being said I do enjoy them if they make sense. Such as any present day crime drama interacting, any show set in the same city, etc. If you are writing a cross-over that is logical then I would willingly help you with it. |
