Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well, I am English, so I know grammar and punctuation! I can make suggestions on format as well, for example, I would advise against stories written all in centre page, bold type. I'll get back to you quickly enough. I have recently finished a 27 chapter story for Rourouni Kenshin, and before that I wrote loads of shorter fics for Teen Titans (Oh, the horror of early work!) I've never betaed before, unless you count doing it for your friends. I don't really know what I expect of people "wishing to acquire my services" as it says at the top here. I'm sure I'll develop some preferences as I go along, but right now, anything goes really. However, if I don't know anything about the fandom you're writing in, I might not accept, as I won't get the nuances. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Punctuation and grammar, and the strange spelling mistakes that people seem to make here, like writing "discussed" when they mean "digust". Also my plot development is pretty good, if I do say so myself. And I'm not afraid of lemon or yaoi. Oh, and I won't be mean about it. |

I often find stories that I don't read for fun, but if I'm beta reading, then I can correct the things that make me turn away, right? Though it's completely up to the author whether my changes get made or not. |
