Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've been a member of fanfiction for a pretty long time. I love to write. I live because i write, and I really, really want to share that passion with you. I want to help you guys get better with the talents that you already have. I've written a lot of stories (posted or unposted), and i'm sure that i can help you guys a lot through beta-ing. Constructive criticism is very important in helping a developing writer.
I won't simply look at your punctuation or grammar, I look at the play of words, and try to find ways for you to paint a picture to the reader.
I'm not going to change the words you've written down for that story (though i do accept story requests), i'm simply going to comment on whatever you have, and the changes are yours to make. I want to bring out the best in you.
Don't feel down when i put too much criticism, because i just really know that you have potential. I'm going to push you harder because i know you can do better; and i hope that i do help you get better.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
1. Detailing. I'm a very meticulous person, and i like to make stories as deep as possible. I make stories that describe a lot. I'm a painter, as well, so I pay attention to every detail. (this also helps lengthen your story)
2. POV. Everything's much easier when you put yourself in the shoes of a character. I embody the characters, and imaine what it's like to walk in their shoes.
3. Flow of words. I'm going to keep harassing you until your stories look as pretty as possible. I like to play around with synonyms, and I love to make things deeper (as i have said) with the use of more words and description. The sentence structure is very important in delivering a message.
4. Unusual pairings. I like things that you have to look in-dpeth for, not just the one that's being fed to me in books or in TV. I tend to look at the little things and make them the source of love between a couple; it's the "little wonders" that will remain. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
1. I have limited internet access and i tend to reply late.
2. I'm not a big fan of dialogues. Because i believe that "you say it best when you say nothing at all". I still think that the sweetest words don't come out of people's lips.
3. Humor. I'm a very serious person, and I have no "funny" powers. Sorry... I am humor-ically incapable. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Genre:I love drama and romance, but if you've got something else in mind (except for humor), i do just as fine in writing those, as well.
Topic: Harry Potter, Rurouni Kenshin, and Teen Titans. I know so much about these topics, so if you plan to make me beta under a different topic, you're gonna have to give me sufficient information about it. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Lemon-centered stories. Sure, if there's a bit of it, as long as it connects to the story; but if you've got an entire story filled with it, then, no thank you. I'll pass. |
