Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm a twenty year old university student from England (which does mean I use UK English, not US English spelling). My preference is to highlight any areas I see issues with and leave notes in italics afterwards - although chances are when it's small mistakes like spelling or grammar, I may just correct it. I will also tend to leave a longer note at the start or at the beginning of the chapter. I am unhappy reading anything that is likely to have more the two or three spelling mistakes per paragraph - I'm very much a quick skim reader, and I tend to be more interested in rephrasing sentences or paragraphs to make them 'sound' better. If you're relatively confident in your work and just want another pair of eyes to check it over, I'm perfectly happy to help out. If you think you're going to need a lot of help, it may be better to find someone else. |
