Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
This is my first time offering my services as a beta, however if I betaread for you, I will work on the believability of your story (rather it is a work of science fiction or the story is set in the real world, somethings come off as simply improbable unless if explained thoroughly). I will correct all grammatical/spelling mistakes. I will also provide feedback concerning characterizations (though I don't mind reading stories in which the leads are out of character), the plot (is it interesting? does it bore me to death?) and the writing style (does it hinder the comprehension? is it too bland?).
Although, do not take any comment or criticism I make personally. We all have room for improvement and one should embrace the help offered instead of getting offended. I promise I will not be rude. =) |

Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I will only betaread pieces of fiction concerning the Naruto fandom.
I am better versed in yaoi (male homosexual pairings), but I am open to proof-read any other type of pairing. I prefer stories that with Naruto and Sasuke as the main characters, but I will not discriminate should you have choose to other characters as the leads .

As of yet, I have no peculiar preferences of dislikes.
However, I refuse to read a story with too much improbable character bashing. I understand if a certain character is depicted as the villain- but there is always a limit to character bashing. Running Sakura over with a Hummer 47 times in five different chapters is going overboard for me.
I am not much of a fan of PWP- if you want to write explicit sex scenes- that is fine- but at least supply a modicum of a background story to keep the readers' interest.
I haven't as of yet ever really read any stories featuring crack pairings, so I do not know if I will be able to betaread for such types of stories. The sole issue I have with crack pairings is that I cannot picture the interaction between two characters who have barely EVER interacted in the manga before. However, I am willing to give it a try.
Other than that, I am pretty open-minded. |
