Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well, English is my second language, however I am told I'm better at English than a lot of people that have it as their mother tongue. I'm a graduated Creative/Novel Writing student in English, so that must ring a bell.
I'm very straight forward, but that doesn't mean I am a mean person when betaing... I find it very funny when people just say things like they're dealing with their enemy or something of the sort. I will point out flaws, but I will never try to seem superior to you or better than you in any way, I'm here to help. However, I will deny beta requests if I don't like your writing style.
Since most of my fandoms are historical themed, I tend to be a bit an accuracy freak. I do understand the creative excuse and I use it myself, but I will look for pieces of real information in your story. If you have dificulties in mixing fiction with the real facts or you don't have access to some information, I will gladly help you with that, but only if I see a good plot in your story. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm extremely good with spelling and characterization. Generally my grammar is decent, but since English is my second language, sometimes I might confuse a few things or take time to review something I'm not sure if it's right or wrong. I do try my best all the time, though. |

Vocabulary. I do have a vast vocabulary, but personally I don't think it is good enough... Yet. But I am working on that. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'm open to anything, except really cheesy romances. I do like romances, though. I love action stories (epic battles and the likes). I like OCs, so bring them (I will judge them a lot, though).
You will notice I selected "Misc Books" and "Misc Movies". For books, I accept Thomas Harris and Chuck Palahniuk. For movies I accept a whole lot, you can contact me shortly to ask if I'd beta for a certain movie, it would take me forever to make a list of all of them. |

Slash of any sort when the characters are not gays in the original piece. Explicit sexual scenes are not my cup of tea either. |
