Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am Dixie Stonehall. I have been writing fiction for eleven years. My first story was called Wolfie - and it was about a blue wolf who liked to eat honey. He had to fight off the threat of the honeycatchers, who were basically, a bunch of retarded girl scouts who wanted to take Wolfie's honey away from him.
I've improved dramatically through the years - which one would expect, of course. I currently maintain an A* (A star) in both English Language and Literature, and I'm going on to do A-levels in both in college next year. Once I'm done with them - if I'm not sick, I'll go on to a degree in one or both of them.
I'm a fan of fanfiction and original fiction, but obviously, I'll be dealing with fanfiction on this website.
I'm not great with movies, I'm okay with books, I'm simply terrible with anime, considering how much I dislike it - I mainly write for video games, of many different genres. Whichever games I enjoy playing and I relate to the characters within.
I will discuss your writing with you via e-mail, forum, personal message, or MSN messenger, whatever suits you best. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I specialise in description, personification, characterisation and anthromorphism. My highest graded work is my descriptive settings, scenes and events. I have an extensive vocabulary, and my favourite part of stories is reading how an author describes settings and character appearances. I'm a very strong speller, I very rarely make mistakes, disregarding typos. Of course, I am English, so my colour will contain a U, and my centre will be spelt with the RE ending. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
When it comes to weaknesses, I'm not great with speech. Certain characters, I may be able to get into their roles and speak their words, but I'm not very good at maintaing a strong conversation. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
As I mentioned, I prefer video games - but if you've authored for another category, I'd be happy to read it over - providing I'd heard of the genre and knew enough about it to understand it. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'd rather not read anime stories, as I'm not a big fan. And I would rather stab myself in the eyeballs than read a Harry Potter fic, unless it was an anti-Potter or a parody. |
