Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
All right, my expectations are that you let me know what you're sending me in a title. I want you to e-mail me your story, either as the body or as an attachment. From there, I can read and edit as I see fit. I will send you back both the edited version and the un-edited version. I will read your work three times at a minimum, more if I need to. If your writing makes no sense, I will e-mail you back telling you so. I'll give you critique at the ending of my edits on how to better your writing and I will give you the same about of compliments as well. I may seem really strict here, but I want you to know that I want to be your bud, also, and not just your beta. I'll take as much as you throw at me and I'll have it to you by the next day at the latest. I take this seriously, as bad grammar and bad spelling is what usually turns people off of reading fanfiction. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
In my writing, I can say that I'm good at writing and sentence structure. In my beta-readings, I can tell you that I will critique your structure of paragraphs and sentences.and upon occasion, even spelling. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'll let you know that I'm horrid at coming up with endings. If yours has an ending, I applaud you! Multi-chaptered fics that I've written haven't ended yet... |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
You want honesty here? I'll read ANYTHING. Seriously, blood and guts? Hells yeah! Fluffy romance? Damn straight! Spirits and fantasy? Why the hell not? |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
As I've said, I'll read anything. I'd prefer not to read things that are written in 1337 or chatspeak, however. I draw the line at sheer typing laziness. |
