Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader I am a new beta-reader, but I have been proofing and correcting peoples' stories, papers, and projects for years. I have a natural flare with language, and a good understanding of it. I have a decent vocabulary, look up things I don't know, and I read very quickly, as well as critically.
My expectations are thus: don't be a jerk, I won't be either. I'll read your stuff and give you honest feedback, and you may use it as you will. I'm open to criticism, within reason. | My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths I am good with grammar and sentence structure, as well as with flow. I have read a pretty interesting scope of both fanfics and published works, and if you write in an area I'm familiar with (example: Final Fantasy, DBZ, Legend of Dragoon, Hellsing, Tamora Pierce, etc.) I can help you with inaccuracies if you want the help. | My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses I can tend to be long-winded, and I usually have long sentences. | Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others Final Fantasy (VII-XII), DBZ, Legend of Dragoon, Tamora Pierce (Tortall), Hellsing, Yu Yu Hakusho, various other books, games, and animes. I really like action/drama, anything violent (within reason, I don't like people getting dismembered). Character-centric pieces are welcome. If it's well put together, I don't really care. | Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for I'm not a big fan of hardcore yaoi/yuri (I don't hate it, I just don't love it.) Also, super cheesy romances and stories/poems where characters are extremely OOC and are not believeable are not my faves either. |
