Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hmmm... formally, I'd say that I have a fair beta-reader expectation. I'm basically willing to beta-read for anyone willing, but I expect people to learn from the errors I can find if I point them out. I don't only just find grammar and spelling issues, but I like making suggestions in general that I think could help a story. When beta-ing I like pointing out what I liked about a story as a boost of confidence and it also helps to tell you what could be used again in later stories/chapters. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm fair. I don't point out errors and then not explain them. I tend to say what I like, as well as dislike, honestly so you can grow off the feedback (as corny as that sounds). I try not to be too blunt and become friendly with authors. I also feel I can beta-read rather well in many different styles from one-shots to multi-story chapters. Also, I'm on the computer at least once a day so I should be able to beta ASAP. ;) |

I can only beta-read so well. My skill isn't all too developed as of now, so I'm not exactly sure how much I could help an author out. I think I mostly apply to new authors who need positive feedback and helpful story/spelling/grammar suggestions. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'm fairly sure I can only beta Bleach, Nabari no Ou, Kuroshitsuji and Death Note at this moment. I could probably beta other animes/mangas, but only a select few. A list is on my profile, if interested. Other than that, I'd be best suited for people who aren't highly, highly experienced writers. I really don't mind beta-ing extremely long, multi-chapter stories either. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Poetry. I'm awful in said subject, so be forewarned. Other than that, I'd say I'm a bit more lenient towards romance stories with my preferred pairings. It doesn't mean I won't beta a story, it just means that more explicit things may not be good for me, especially if it's a disliked pairing.
