WHO ARE YOU AS A BETA-READER?

I am the kind of beta that will critique your works as I do my own. I have been called my own harshest judge, so be forewarned. However, I will pass no prejudgments or dispostion upon your work based upon raw subject material. I will judge and beta the material based on its physical literate characteristic and fluid prose continuity.


WHAT IS YOUR BETAREADING STYLE?

Each writer has their own unique style of literate prose. As a result I've kept my knowledge of grammatical rules to an elementary level focusing on proper puncuation as a main. My first discretion when betareading material is to keep that style whole. I won't make any assumtpions about certain things I find inconsistant and will ask you when I find them. This fine tunes your work while keeping your unique style whole. I will make certain suggestions, but the final decision will be yours.


WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS OF ANYONE THAT WISHES TO ACQUIRE YOUR SERVICES?

My expectations are simple and finite. I only request your trust. Trust that I will do a good job and also trust that I will act and speak(okay type) with absolute honesty. Again, all I require is your trust.

I would say my biggest strength would be my experience. I have been writing and posting fan-fiction since the mid-1990's though not on fanfiction(dot)net of course. There hasn't been much in the fanfic world that I haven't seen. I either read or posted nearly everything from fluff pieces to epics to some pretty raunchy lemon fics and everything in between.

My second greatest strength would be my honesty. I simply don't know how to lie. My aunt's attest this to me growing up without a mother(jk!). Like nature, I say and do nothing needlessly. How I critique a story, will be how I see it from a completely objective view.

Throughout the sitez I've posted on over the years, this is the one I see as lasting (finally) for years or even decades. I intend to see to that by offering these strengths at your disposal.

I would say my main weakness is my almost 'old-man overbearance' to the fan-fic world. Some see it as a hobby and maybe that is how most of us here started out. However, after being in this medium for so many years; I've come to see it as a means of creative expression and therefore an art form. That could be too much for some.

There's not much I don't prefer. I will read anything I can get my hands on. Though, as a courtesy to you more so than for me, I won't beta for a medium I'm not familiar with.

There is only one taboo I will not cross is the one regarding grotesque torture. This is in fact a 'dark-side' of the fanfic world and one I will not be a part of.
