Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I generally get asked to help proofread papers at school, but haven't had much experience beta-reading online. I'm very willing to help out in any way that I can, but I prefer to only handle spelling and grammar. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm a stickler for spelling and grammar and can pick mistakes out very quickly. I have a large vocabulary and can use this knowledge accurately. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Giving plot help. It's hard for me to give advice as to where a story should or could go next when I'm not the brains behind it. I can attempt it, but the best bet would be to ask someone else for those matters. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to beta-read stories in categories I'm familiar with. Having some knowledge of the original piece of work helps keep my attention. Fixing mistakes in a character's speech pattern is easier if I know whether or not they speak with an accent, ect. See my profiles for categories I'm familiar with. If there is a question, send me a message. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Categories I'm not familiar with, any story containing a Mary-Sue or Gary-Stu, and script formatted stories. Other than that, it depends on the story in question. See my profile for categories I'm familiar with. If there is a question, send me a message. |
