Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader Well, I haven't beta'd anyone before, but I have plenty of experience editing/looking over work. I think I would be best at fine-tuning a story-- which means that I'd rather you looked over it yourself once or twice first. And please, if it's long, try to plan it out a bit. If I'm going to beta the story, I do need spoilers so I know where you're planning to go.
Just help me help you, that's all. :) | My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths I tend to be rather nit-picky with grammar, spelling and general aesthetics, so if you put too many page-breaks, your paragraphs are too short or too long, et cetera, I'd be able to help fix that. I'm also pretty good at finding out-of-character lines. OOC-ness bothers me (a lot), so I think should be able to catch it fairly easily.
On that note, I'm also pretty good with anime continuity. If you want to know something like "when did this happen" or "what was that guy's name," I'd be great for that. | My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses Unfortunately, I'm not too good with manga continuity, and the only game I really know (for now, at least) is the second one. But if you've got an anime/movie-based fic, I have all my resources right here on the comp~
Also, I'm kinda nit-picky. ...Like, REALLY nit-picky. That's probably a good thing in terms of beta-work, but it might get on your nerves, so I'm just warning you. | Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others Well, I've gotten much less picky recently, so toss 'em at me! As long as it's FMA, I'll probably be good. If it's one of my favorite pairings, I'll be even better! 8D | Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for Hm... well, I probably won't do crossovers or self-inserts. Partly because crossovers ain't my thing, mostly because I wouldn't know this second series nearly as well as I know FMA. Pathetic, I know. Sorry for my incompetence. |
