Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
First off: I'm a grammar freak. You can be assured that once I am through with your story, not a single comma will be out of place. I tend to leave comments both within a story AND at the end of it, often reiterating what I feel are the most important corrections needed. If your story is pretty good, I'll actually find more things for you to improve. But if your story is atrocious, I'll probably make only a few general suggestions and tell you that you should rethink your ideas.
If you want me to beta your story, you need to be open-minded to change, and have at least some experience in writing. Depending on which fandom your story is in, there's only so much I can do for you. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My grammar and spelling is just about perfect. It's the easiest part of writing and reading for me. I also tend to know characters and worlds of a fandom fairly well, thus being able to point out almost immediately what sounds out-of-character or just plain wrong. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I tend to forget about my beta reading jobs if the section sent to me is too long, so if you keep it short, I'll be more likely to get it done. Also, I can get impatient, and though I'll never let it show online, it sure affects how thoroughly I beta-read your work. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I will beta-read stories from the follwing fandoms: Avatar The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, Harry Potter, the Inheritance Cycle, Inuyasha, and Yugioh. If your story is of a different fandom, there is a limit to how much I can help you, but if you just want grammar help, I'll beta-read any fandom. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No explicit sexual content. I will tolerate some Yaoi pairings in Yugioh fics, but with other fandoms, only straight, monogamous, non-incestual pairings. |
