Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am willing to beta most stories which fall into my preferences list. I am mostly writing within the Star Wars genre at the moment, so I will likely be more interested in Star Wars stories than others at the moment.
I have a tendency to be strict with grammar and spelling when I beta, but I will never put down your work. I suggest ideas, generally in different colored font, and allow you to decide whether you want to accept my advice or not. After all, it is your work, not mine. |

I am good at grammar, sentence structure and spelling. I am also good at interpersonal relationship type material and plot building. |

Comma use, although I have gotten better. Also, although I can write it, action sequences (lightsaber duels etc) are not my forte. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I love Mara/Luke Star Wars stories (especially AU stories where they meet and/or get together early). This is primarily what I am reading now and will be of more interest than anything else. I am also a big fan of Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights (Aribeth stories), KotOR and BSG. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not review anything implies or overtly talks about slash - I do not write it, will not read it.
Also, if your story deals with Star Wars EU, especially NJO or LotF, please do not consider me. I despise both of those series with a passion and will not review anything based on them. I may make an exception to this rule if the story is based on Luke and Mara, and does not result in Mara getting killed by Jacen.
And please, no poetry - I am no good at it. |
