Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader Ok, I'll admit, I can be a bit overactive about grammar and spelling. On the other hand, it means I'll rarely miss any mistakes. I know how hard it can be to write good stories, so I'll be more than happy to help out if I can. I'll read more or less anything, and I don't really have any bad expectations out of you. I just want to help people write great stories.
When I beta-read things, I check for spelling, grammar, and sentence structure. Any criticism given will be constructive, and you don't have to change anything if you think it flows better as it is. It's your story, after all. And I've worked out how to use the system properly, so I'll copy and paste your story, then correct it and send it back in the DocX file. | My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths I've always been good at English, by which I mean I've been consistently graded high, and I'm confident that I can spot most mistakes, and help to sort out dodgy sentences. I also have a large vocabulary (or, failing that, a huge English dictionary next to the computer), so any alternative words I've suggested are ones I believe stay in line with the story and characterisation. Anyone can do well - I just want to help you get there. If you want an example of my writing style, just read my latest story - Warrior Of Art. (I say that one because it's my latest one, and doesn't have the mistakes of the earlier ones.) | My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses I don't know if this counts, but I'm English, which means my spellings might differ to yours. I'm also a bit of a perfectionist. I'm quite often rather busy, but rest assured that I place a high priority on my beta-reading services, so you won't be waiting too long (hopefully!).
You might have noticed I've only written stories for a few of my chosen ones. This is because I prefer to read stories, and tend to work on one story at a time. This doesn't mean at all that I chose them at random - they are the books, games, animes, movies - whatever, that I like and understand the plot behind. | Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others I'll be happy to beta-read any story, but please PM me first if it's something I haven't specifically said I'll do.
