Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have completed two collage-level writing courses and have only a few responsibilities other than school and should have plenty of time to devote to editing stories. I have only beta-ed a few works, mostly for people I know in real life. I anticipate taking anywhere from a day to five days to beta a work, depending on its length, the number of corrections needing to be made, and how much my life is screwing with my head. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am good at sentence structure, getting sentences to flow nicely, and grammar. I can give advice on different ways to word sentences so that they might make more sense. Also, I will try to help keep your characters as in character as possible unless you ask me otherwise. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Spelling. If it weren't for spell check that comes with Firefox and Microsoft Word, then I would have the majority of words spelled wrong. I can usually tell if a word is spelled wrong, I can just never, without a dictionary (or dictionary.com), find the correct spelling on my own. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer to beta stories that are either romance or action/adventure, though I'll accept other genres. Stories of all lengths are welcome. |

Slash is really just not my thing. Depending on the pairing, I may accept it, but that is unlikely. I have nothing against it, it just isn't my thing. |
