Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've been reading fanfiction for a very long time. I've also written some too. By now I've had a lot of experience in this area, and I try to have a good balance of helping you improve your writing and appreciating the parts of your writing that are already very good.
My expectation as a beta is mainly just that if you ask me to read your story, you put effort into it and effort into improving it. You don't have to do everything that I say, but please consider my comments. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good at grammar, continuity, and particularly the plot. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Generally battle scenes are hard for me to write, though I do a bit better at critiquing them. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
It's hard for me to list the stories that I prefer, since I like so many types! If I had to narrow it down to three I would say hurt/comfort, humor, and action. I like to read all except for poetry, though. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I try not to beta read stories that are set in a universe I don't know a lot about. As for genre, pretty much anything but poetry is fine with me.
Also, I prefer not to read romance stories that have slash as their entire focus. Some is okay as long as the whole story isn't about the relationship. |
