Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
My name is Richard (or you may call me J.R. for a nickname.) I am usually at home playing computer games and have lots of free time (obviously!). I'm willing to beta people's works. If you want to have me as a beta reader, put the title with the words "Beta" in it. I also have my junk filter turned on (I get junk mail up the kazoo daily!). If you have a hotmail account, it won't turn up in my junkmail box. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Spotting errors, reading is my strongest point. I'm a fast reader, and can probably read a 500 page book in a day an a half, if reading it constantly. I can spot grammar errors easily. I'm a proficient speller, and can spell most correctly on the first try. The harder the word (the weirder the letter spelling), the harder to spell. |

Characterization. Enough said. I can't write characterization very well (unless the character has my own personality, then that is excellent.) |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer reading stories with action, horror, romance, comedies, and "pairing" stories. I'm somewhat decent in writing smut, or correcting it, if you'd also like. I also prefer reading stories that are in the "Medieval" period. (meaning swords and shields type story), as well as Baldur's Gate stories, Harry Potter, or anything magical related. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Stories I will not read; no if's, and's or but's about it: A slash story, PERIOD! I don't care if its female or male slash, I will not read this. Also, if your main character is a bossy, thinks everything is his/her business to know everything that goes on, or gets her kicks out of bossing people around; forget it! (A wonderful example of this character is Hermione Granger. This character I CANNOT stand and loathe her with a passion!) |
