I am going to be direct. I am here to tell you what is wrong with your chapters, not what is right, so don't expect too many kind words from me unless you really do something amazing. I expect people to improve over time, and for the end result to be decent enough that I would want to read it. If you are writing in IM or texting shortcuts, don't even bother applying because I want to help with stories people want to do well. Most of all, if you want me to beta your story, you'd better have the drive to complete it. Short of an away-from-home vacation, edited content will likely be returned the same day, or at most within a week.

If you want me to beta a story based on an animé or manga, please use only English, short of words with no translation, or that sound stupid in English. For example, when writing a Naruto fan fiction, I will not complain about the proper use of -san or -chan or other honorifics or using the Japanese name for a jutsu that is well described in its effect, but if I see "Daijoubou Desu Ka, (Character Name)" in place of "Are you alright?" I will ask you to change it, not only for the comprehension of the readers, and because the majority of you do not know enough Japanese to get the grammar or spelling right. For the Japanese words you do use, please have the decency to look them up to get the correct spelling. If you don't know the correct spelling, I will direct you to a website where you can get it, or at least a close enough spelling that I won't be riding your ass about it.

In conclusion, I not just here to make your story better, I'm here to make you a better writer.

My greatest strength is my vocabulary skills (I will likely use or suggest using words you have not head of at some point). I also have grammar, spelling and punctuation skills that put most native English speakers to shame.

I am not very good at dissecting style. I can see plot lines and information fine, but ask me to evaluate your themes or other abstract concepts and my responses will likely be superficial.

I like all genres of stories if they are done well, but tend to enjoy stories with good action since writing action is my forté and I have no real life experience with emotion based plots.

I don't mind if there are sex scenes, but I don't do pornographic stories. If there is a lemon in every chapter or two, it's probably violating the fanfiction.net guidelines anyway. I also don't do stories that I can tell will fail, but don't let that stop you from replying. I also don't like song-fics. If you want to recommend a song, put it in your author notes. If you want a song in your story, it had better fit the story AND be original (otherwise it is copyright infringement).
