Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Though I am kind of young, I consider myself to be a rather skilled writer. I can also have a pretty critical eye if someone needs me to. But I AM nice! So I won't tell you your story is terrible or anything. I try to be honest, though, so I will not hesitate to point stuff out or make suggestions. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have a good eye for grammar and spelling. I can be a bit of a "grammar nazi" at times. I will NOT hesitate under ANY circumstances to point out blaring errors. Admittedly, I do make some myself occasionally, but everyone does, which is why it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Also, I consider myself pretty good at doing descriptions and emotions. If a story needs more description, or maybe even less, I can, more often than not, suggest something better. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I tend to be a little too nice at times. I am trying very hard to be honest without hurting anybody's feelings. I will need to really teach myself not to look over anything because, let's face it, wonderful and sweet reviews that just go on and on about how great a story is are nice and make you feel good, but they don't usually help all that much. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to beta-read stories that I would read regularly. Here are my preferred catagories (in order of preferance):
1. Sweeney Todd
2. House MD
3. Sleepy Hollow
4. Avatar: The Last Airbender
5. Pirates of the Carribean
6. Pokemon
7. Animal Crossing |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
The only thing that I won't betaread is same-sex pairings. Don't get me wrong, I have NOTHING against people with different sexual perferance or anything. I'm just not into that kind of story. |
