Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm Elric-Chan, and as a beta-reader, of course I try to help those who would benefit from my suggestions. Having been asked for help many times, and considering myself an outstanding writer, I thought it would only be fitting that I become a Beta Reader for FanFiction.net.
My style as a beta reader... well, I mainly look for grammar mistakes to begin with. But if I can really get down into it, I'll start pulling out flow issues, wording issues, etc.
My expectations of anyone who wants my help are simple. I expect you to have done what you can, not for you to think I will rewrite your entire story because "I make good plotlines". I'm here to slightly polish what you have sincerely believed to have done your very best on, but still think has room for improvement. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My best area, hands down, would definitely be on correcting grammar. That is my best area, because I pick out grammar mistakes by nature. If you think your spelling and grammar could use some serious work, I'm the girl to help. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can get confused when trying to explain exactly what I think is wrong with a piece of writing, and I'm not always the best at making the story flow right. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would personally prefer to beta romance, because it is something I like to write, and because I can help a writer to understand what a good way to write a love scene is. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I would prefer not to read anything explicit, for the simple reason that most of it is utter crap. Even as a beta reader, I would not want at all to waste my time trying to correct an awfully written pile of M-rated junk. |
