Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hey, I'm King of Jarkonia, formerly Jarkobubbles84. Now, I don't claim to be 'the best' beta reader out there, nor do I claim that I'm the best writer or anything like that. However, I do give an advantage in that I don't demand some form of payment for my beta services, such as a oneshot with an OC of mine or something similar. I do all beta reading absolutely free. I would like to be able to help if anyone needs it. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can be extremely picky about certain characteristics of writing, such as grammatical errors, punctuation, capitalization, and more. I tend to prefer an upper track vocabulary over the gutter-speak of today's youth (I.E., "What's up?" "Yo" and other slang, etc.) |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can be too picky at some times, and I am definitely NOT the best person to ask if you need sentences and paragraphs moved-- I can reword them and rewrite, but I can NOT move them about very easily. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I honestly have no true preference.... I rather like certain story categories, such as Code Lyoko, World of Warcraft, Naruto, and the like, but if I know the show/book/etc, then I'm able to beta read it. I have no problem with ratings, I can beta read an M rated lemon-filled story just as easily as I can beta read a K+ rated fic filled with a bit of fluff and the strongest swear phrase being "Oh, darn, I locked my keys in the apartment. Lucky I have a spare." Ratings don't matter to me. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Don't like certain categories so much..... But those are shows themselves that I don't like, not just the category of stories. If you pick a show or something that I don't know or don't like, I'll simply tell you, "Sorry, don't know it" or "Sorry, can't do it" and send you on to another beta reader. |
