Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I normally read everything. Reading since the age of five has given me a great sense in what makes a good plot or story. I hate it when fiction based on what is happening in the present book/anime/manga has the wrong background information, unless of course it is one of those 'what if' stories. I am also a grammar and spelling freak. I do in fact tell authors that they spell certain things wrong, or if they make no sense at all. I expect anyone who wishes for me to be their Betareader to be original, as I do not support plagerism, they must know how to write in the correct grammar. I will read through the fiction I would be betareading, assisting the person in spelling and grammer, sometimes maybe even help for ideas as my imagination is a wonderful place, left untouched by television and computer games. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
If there is a fic about any of my favourite subjects I will possibley know everything about said subject. I could relate to writers who are in the same position as myself, in events such as a writers block I can offer ideas after a moment of thought. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
As I writer, I am often a perfectionist. Sometimes this is bad, sometimes it is good. Also, there are tinmes when I put off my duty as a writer, I am more of a reader than a writer, so sometimes do not know how to word my ideas. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer to Beta Romance stories or Parodies, as these are my two favourite genres. I do like a bit of Gore and Horror here and there though. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I would not Beta read anything yoai/yuri unless it is a pardoy fiction. I have nothing against Homosexuals, but sometimes I just cannot see the charecters falling in love either at all or with someone of the same gender. I would also never Beta read a story that contains majorly OOC charecters. I know it is called fan fiction, but some things are best left untouched. |
