Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm a thorough beta-reader if given enough time, it's my way of compensating for my continued inability to string a plot together. I tend to only fix simple grammar mistakes and all spelling mistakes/typos, unless I can directly interact with the author while I'm b-reading to make quite sure everything's giving across the right message.
Expectations; I'll take anyone, any ability. I don't mind people ignoring some of my corrections in order to maintain their writing style, or spotting something I've missed and changing it. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excel at the very basics - I'm prepared to read a fic with no punctuation and put every piece in if the situation calls for it. I'm also good at spotting spelling mistakes. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I have a bit of a comma obsession, I put them EVERYWHERE, and my grammar isn't perfect by any means. If I'm not given enough time, I skim-read and miss obvious things. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer stories under 40,000 words, just to save my sanity as I go towards exams. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Any lemons, sorry. They're rarely written to my tastes, and if I don't like what I'm reading I can't read it properly. |
