Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi! I am MissLovelyEagle9. When I read a story, I expect to find little or no grammatical errors. I also expect accurate past history for the television/movie/book that you are creating a story for. I absolutely hate a story that has play narration (i.e. Simon: Do you really think so? Rose: Yes, I do.). That type of narration leaves no room for emotions or description. Lastly, I except that the writer has a maturity and mental comprehension of the story at hand. If the writer is immature and is writing of mature subjects, it makes for a usually silly and ignorant story. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am good at finding grammatical or story inaccuracies, and I will often point them out. I can also point out inaccuracies in their stories. I am also good at coming up with new concepts for storylines if the writer suddenly gets a bad case of writer's block. I also make a point in my reviews to point out the best qualities in the story and the worst qualities as gently as I know how to. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am sometimes too brutal in my reviews, and I feel that I can come off as a "know-it-all." |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer to review television/movies/books that I am familiar with. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I can handle some slash fics, but if they are overly sexual I will not read them. |
