Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've never betaread before, but I like to think that I know how to use proper grammar and find continuity problems.
I've edited assignments for friends, and had a breif stint as an editor for the school paper. I try to be helpful and make sure that the person that I'm editing for understands why I would change things. I want to make sure that wonderful stories being told aren't obscured by accidents, or thing that just need to be cleared up a bit. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am very quick to cut out anything I feel doesn't belong. Also I love good dialouge, I like to make sure that characters truly shine through their interactions with others. Also small things that other people skip over stick out to me. I know the differences amongst there, their, and they're and I know to, too, and two. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Commas may be the death of me yet. I can usually clean them up, but they are not my strong suit. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I love anything with a sense of humor. The funier the better. This isn't a major selling point though, really I love anything so long as it has a good story. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Poetry is a lovely thing, and sometimes I like to read some, but most of the time I couldn't be bothered with it. |
