Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello, The names SniperFodder (An old handle I've used for FPS Multiplayer). I do mostly grammar, spelling, and sentence structure, though I will offer some of my thoughts about certain plot points.br /

Currently I have three W.I.T.C.H. stories posted, one of which is complete, one nearing completion, and the other being panned out further then what I had intended and is on indefinite hold. Therefore, I do not claim to be an expert on W.I.T.C.H. lore or history so if I point out something that is indeed correct, just nudge me. This also means the focus of 75% of my Fanfics is W.I.T.C.H. and so that is what I am most comfortable with. However, I have read a large range of Science-Fiction books, so first try me and see if I am comfortable with working on your FanFic. I also have followed the Stargate series since it first came out as a movie, so I'm pretty comfortable with fanfics that deal with Stargate.br /

Some of the tools I use for beta reading include, but are not limited to: Google Docs, Microsoft Office (I will be getting OpenOffice soon), Dictionary.com, and ten years of experience as a reader. If you have a tool that you'd like to suggest for use with your FanFic, just let me know.br /

-D) What is the required turn around time you need? i.e. After a chapter is submitted to me for review, when is the earliest you want it (1 day, 3 days, 6 months, etc etc etc)?br /

-E) If the story is already in progress, do you need me to go through already published content, or do you just require assistance with all future chapters? Answer N/A if nothing is published yet.br /

-F) Timezone? I am MST. Some things I might wish to discuss with you in real time, so we will need to plan accordingly.br /

-G) Are you comfortable talking over MSN Messenger, or IRC (Internet Relay Chat)?br /

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
English Sentence Structure. I can work with some stories where people did not learn English as their first/primary language. I've read a lot of books for a long time(over 10 years) ranging from simple and easy reads to very complex hard to grasp reads(I.E. Jurassic Park, and if you don't think it was hard, try reading it as a 6th grader who's vocab was fairly constrained, not to mention concepts, blah blah blah). I also can provide a critical eye on details that might need to be fleshed out(i.e. some plot point that is obvious to you but not to the reader).br /

I am technically orientated, so I might make suggestions on technical aspects in a story. Just an FYI. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm very very nit picky. I will nit pick about a lot of things. So beware if I hang on some of the smallest details, just remind me not to be so nit picky. Also, since I am a busy college student, I WILL Forget to do your FanFiction. If you haven't heard from me in a couple days, just poke me and I'll remember to work on it. I can also have be very temperamental if you come at me with an attitude. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I will do a lot of FanFics, everything from X-overs to angst. Stargate and W.I.T.C.H. are what I primarily focus on. I will beta read for Video Games, but only if I know the title. The same goes for books, if I'm familiar with the title I will beta read it for you. I'll try to list all the titles that I know of on my bio, but I have read A LOT so don't be afraid to pass a story by me. It might be something I've been interested in but not really gotten into. You might just jump start me into a new category. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not to big on Romance. In fact, I hate Romance. In fact I'm pretty sure it will degrade my work if it's Romance. So don't even go there. I'll add more as I come up with it 0_o.br /

Also I don't want any Smut. Yes my profile says K-M, but that does not mean it can have overtly sexual content in it. There IS a difference between M for Mature and AO for Adults Only. |
