Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
One important thing in appropriately editing and advising on fanfics is to be intimately familiar with the source material. Keeping the characters intact, settings in place, and the general mood and/or the atmosphere of the fandom. I'll only accept if I actually know what I'm reading. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm a grammar stickler even if my own work is occasionally hit with a few mistakes. Structure is important which in fan fiction is almost to much to ask for people to use paragraphs. Knowing what tense of a word to use, not to mention using the correct word in the first place. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm lazy, with updates taking too long to come out, but thankfully people are more patient than I give them credit for. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'm knowledgeable in a few fandoms, some I've written for, some I just have an appreciation for. Code Lyoko is one, Resident evil is another. I have my interest in many areas so it could be surprising what fandoms I have knowledge on. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Yaoi is something I can't stand especially with straight male characters, so don't even ask. Anything to do with vampires, in the past few years I've been vampired out to put it simply. Mainly because authors have turned them from bad ass blood sucking evil yet sophisticated creatures of the night who explode or burn upon contact with sunlight to sparkling angst filled pussies. |
